South Gippsland BMX Club Incpowered by TidyHQ
Welcome to South Gippsland BMX Club!
South Gippsland BMX Club brings the cameraderie and excitement of BMX racing to South Gippsland. If you're interested in a fun, safe, and action-packed sport that the whole family can get involved in, then you'll love BMX!
What is BMX Racing?
BMX racing is a fantastic action-packed sport involving up to eight bike riders at a time racing flat-out across a track with jumps, bumps and banked corners (berms). Races generally last less than a minute, meaning it's an all-out sprint to the finish line! But it's a very family-oriented sport, with racing classes for all ages and abilities from two years old to over sixty. Find out more about getting into BMX.
Our track is located at 88 Horn Street, in Leongatha, about 1 hour and 45 minutes' drive down the South Gippsland Highway from the Melbourne CBD (or just over an hour and 10 minutes from Frankston and Casey). The track is owned by the South Gippsland Shire Council and is maintained by a combination of council staff maintaining the grounds, and a dedicated band of South Gippsland BMX Club volunteers who maintain the track itself.
The track is open to the public when there's no club activity happening, so come on down and have a ride! Or come on down to one of our training nights.
Please do not ride on the track when it's wet, and please do not use any radio-controlled cars, motorbikes, or any other motorised vehicles on the track at any time.
Training and Racing
Training resuming for 2021 on November 24. See our current events page for more.
Being a brand new club, we're not currently racing at our Leongatha track yet, but we've got a growing group of riders training at Leongatha every week and are supporting them to take part in club and open racing at tracks across Victoria.
Join us at our training nights to learn the basics of this great sport! Find out more.
Even if you're not into racing, there's plenty of other ways to get involved. From First Aid to Timing and Track Maintenance, there's plenty of roles waiting to be filled. Contact the club for more info.
